I remember seeing this building in my French textbooks in secondary school. It looked odd on paper so I had to take a visit and see it for myself. Up close and personal it looks like an oil refinery in the centre of Parisien street, it stands out as an ugly duckling in an area surrounded by beautiful French architecture.
Opened in 1977, it is houses the largest modern art museum in Europe, a large library as well as a centre for music. It was designed by a team of 3 architects from Britain and Italy.
