Hotel Review: The Palms Place

Palms Resort Las Vegas with the Palms Place tower on the left

I booked the Palms Place as a last minute deal through HotelTonight, where I got a great rate on a studio suite. The Palms resort targets a younger audience and competes with the Hard Rock Hotel for the same target market. The Palms Place is the newest of the 3 towers in the resort and is a condo

Location

The Palms is located off-strip, and is a short ride from hotel to the main centre of the action. Basically you take a right turn when exiting the gate and keep driving straight. This will bring you to the crossroads of the Bellagio & Caesars. There’s plenty happening within the Palms resort though to keep you occupied there.

Room

I loved the room. It had a stainless steel kitchen with everything you could need. The bathroom was massive, it had a walk in shower and within that again there was a jacuzzi Bath.

One of the best things about the room though was the view. Because its stepped back from the main strip, it’s one of the few places in Vegas where you can see the entire strip, from the Mandalay Bay to the South and the Stratosphere to the North. The balcony was locked though, which was a shame.

Cleanliness

Can’t fault the room for cleanliness, everything was spotless.

Staff/Service

Joshua checked me in. He couldn’t find my booking in the system at first, probably because it was a same-day booking through HotelTonight. The was very pleasant and friendly while I was going through the checkout process. One thing I did notice is that the staff is very well trained to upsell; he offered me an upgrade for $75 and when I declined he offered to speak to his manager to see if he could do it for $50. I declined again as the studio apartment was plenty big for me.

Internet/Wifi

Included as part of the resort fee of $20. The resort fee also includes access to the Palms gym, shuttle service to the Forum shops, free newspaper & free boarding pass printing.

Overall

I loved the Palms. I got a great rate from HotelTonight and the room was fantastic. The resort is great, caters well for the younger crowd. Casino was packed but it was a Saturday so I don’t know what it would be like on the weekday.

Overall Score: 80%
