Cleveland, Ohio – a city known for its passionate residents. At first glance, it appears to be a rather dilapidated, out-of-style town. Many people remember the fire that raged on the Cuyahoga River, which runs right through downtown. This image generates a feeling of grime and ugliness–it was often referred as “The Mistake on the Lake”. After spending some time there, however, it is apparent that it is a diamond in the rough.
One of the most interesting things about Cleveland is the LeBron-Cavaliers debacle. In 2010, after 7 years with the organization, LeBron James announced his departure. The GM at the time made some nasty comments, which left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Fans went nuts! They burned his jersey and watched Miami Heat games–the team LeBron had signed with–just to watch him lose. When he returned to the Cavs 4 years later, fans welcomed him with open arms, as if nothing had happened. In much the same manner, Browns fans will fight to the death over their team. People who couldn’t even name the quarterback will put up their dukes to defend the name of their beloved football team. This eternal passion is what makes this city so great!
If you’re a music buff, Cleveland is an incredible vacation spot. The legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nestled in the heart of the city. Inductees such as Elvis, Hank Williams and The Miracles grace the walls of this wondrous place. This attraction alone is a great reason to visit the Ohio town! If you are looking for a city that is loyal to the core, then Cleveland is the place for you!
